Diving With The Invicta Russian Diver
Waves clap against the side of the boat. You jump, hear the familiar splash of weight in water. Float, check your Invicta Russian diver: 1:47. Your tank has two hours of oxygen. You swim down. At about twenty feet it darkens. The sun above calls out but you are too far away to hear. The minnows and small fish scuttle and then there are bigger flatter sea creatures that blink slowly.
You spot a turtle. He is maybe four feet long with hefty flippers, maybe sixty years old. He notices you and coasts away. This is maybe thirty feet deep. The sea floor is about fifty. The water is still clear enough to see to the black bottom. A momentary rising fear of abyss is quelled by reason. You know what you are doing, have done this before.
There are other beautiful fish, yellow-blue shimmery, crystal iridescent. You check your Invicta Russian diver at 3:23, decide to head back to the boat. It passed so quickly. Slowly you ascend, taking it all in, remembering the dark seafloor, the ancient turtle. You think about your watch, and are glad you chose it over the Stuhrling Emperor. Maybe she will buy that for you at Christmas.
